Sen. Graham: Obama move on defense layoff notices ‘patently illegal’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) says that he will do anything he can to block the Obama administration from reimbursing defense contractors for severance costs if the firms don’t send layoff notices to employees.

The Obama administration issued guidance Friday that said defense firms’ costs would be covered if they have to layoff workers due to canceled contracts under the across-the-board cuts set to take effect Jan. 2.

Highlights: Pat Caddell Says: Media Have Become an “Enemy of the American people” (video)

Published on Sep 27, 2012 by

In recent remarks to an AIM conference, “ObamaNation: A Day of Truth,” former Democratic pollster and analyst Pat Caddell said, “I think we’re at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role that the media plays in whether or not we maintain a free democracy.” Caddell noted that while First Amendment protections were originally provided to the press so they would protect the liberty and freedom of the public from “organized governmental power,” they had clearly relinquished the role of impartial news providers.
Nowhere was this more evident than during the tragic death of a U.S. ambassador in Libya that was lied about for nine days, because the press and the administration did not want to admit it was a terrorist attack.
“We’ve had nine days of lies over what happened because they can’t dare say it’s a terrorist attack, and the press won’t push this,” said Caddell. “Yesterday there was not a single piece in The New York Times over the question of Libya. Twenty American embassies, yesterday, are under attack. None of that is on the national news. None of it is being pressed in the papers.”
Caddell added that it is one thing for the news to have a biased view, but “It is another thing to specifically decide that you will not tell the American people information they have a right to know.”

Dems Welcome Muslims, Prohibit Christian Hospitality in Charlotte!

by Rev. Austin Miles

CHARLOTTE,North Carolina (9/11/12) When the DNC came to Charlotte, area churches, 100 of them, offered hospitality, not knowing now much the Dems hate God and would actually boo God at the convention. They had no idea how that hatred would be directed at them and their churches.

The Sunday before the DNC, over 9000 people had come together to pray for the convention. Then, wanting to extend hospitality to the visitors to their city, 56 of the churches set out to “Adopt-a-Delegation.”

They put together gift baskets featuring Carolina Pralines and a letter welcoming them to the city and offering assistance in transportation, childcare or spiritual matters.

According to writer, Todd Starnes, The DNC banned the churches from distributing the gift baskets to delegates because, DNC said, the congregations hold values that are contrary to the party platform. Read that carefully.  More…

Congress to hold pro forma sessions until November

Rather than being in recess for more than five weeks, both the Senate and the House decided to hold pro forma sessions until after the November elections.

Both chambers will gavel in Tuesday morning for a brief session; typically, legislative business doesn’t take place in pro forma sessions. At most members ask to be recognized for a speech, but rarely do.  More…

Mark Steyn: ‘Barack & Hillary at the movies’

President Barack Obama, accompanied by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, speaks in the Rose Garden of the White House in Washington, about the death of U.S. ambassador to Libya Christopher Steven, Sept. 12, 2012.
EVAN VUCCI, ASSOCIATED PRESS

I see the Obama campaign has redesigned the American flag, and very attractive it is, too. Replacing the 50 stars of a federal republic is the single “O” logo symbolizing the great gaping maw of spendaholic centralization. And where the stripes used to be are a handful of red daubs, eerily mimicking the bloody finger streaks left on the pillars of the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi as its staff were dragged out by a mob of savages to be tortured and killed. What better symbol could one have of American foreign policy? Who says the slick, hollow, vapid marketing of the Obama campaign doesn’t occasionally intersect with reality?

On the latter point, after a week and a half of peddling an utterly false narrative of what happened in Libya, the United States government is apparently beginning to discern that there are limits to what even Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice can say with a straight face. The official line – that the slaughter of American officials was some sort of improvised movie review that got a little out of hand – is now in the process of modification to something bearing a less patently absurd relationship to what actually happened. That should not make any more forgivable the grotesque damage that the administration has done to the bedrock principle of civilized society: freedom of speech.  More…

Romney Is Right

Suddenly it’s wrong to articulate a foreign policy different from Obama’s?

Liberal super-PAC leader: It’s easier to beat Republicans by calling them racist than engaging on policy

Is the scoop from The Daily Caller’s Alex Pappas that much of a surprise?  The super-PAC in question, CREDO, identifies its mission as “Take Down the Tea Party Ten.”  Opponents of the Tea Party have rarely engaged on policy; almost from the start, they’ve maligned grassroots conservative activists as “racists,” and also violent government-hating anarchists, while at least enjoying rhetorical affiliation with more violent demonstrators of the Occupy variety.  The only mistake the aptly-nicknamed Matthew “Mudcat” Arnold made was saying this out loud:  More…

Lawmakers set to leave Washington early to get on the campaign trail

Congress is poised to recess at the end of next week as vulnerable incumbents have convinced their leaders that their time is better spent at home campaigning than in Washington.

Iowans, he said, had come together — Democrats, Republicans and independents — to stand as one in calling for a new politics of unity and hope. It was a message that would help carry him to the White House 10 months later.  More…

Lying is Lying

Really, Mr. President? It has been a while since we have had a “Really, Mr. President?” session, but it is time to call the Administration on its style of implying, insinuating, or appearing to err and then using words to obtain deniability. If “rape is rape” then lying is lying.  More…

Rick Warren: Candidates uncivil

Rick Warren cancels presidential civility forum due to … candidates’ incivility

He’s superficially evenhanded in his criticism, singling neither of them out while concluding, “It would be hypocritical to pretend civility for one evening only to have the name-calling return the next day.” But lest you doubt which side he’s really peeved at, note that he’s replacing the civility forum with a forum devoted to religious freedom. GOP Platform Committee Reins in Gay Military

by Karla DialDelegates crafting the Republican Party’s platform this week took a strong stance on military issues — including vowing to protect chaplains’ conscience rights and enforcing the Defense of Marriage Act on military installations.

The platform committee also said the party opposes “anything that might weaken team cohesion, including intra-military special interest demonstrations” — such as wearing uniforms in gay pride events.

Those resolutions echo what the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty has been calling on the federal government to do since the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” became official earlier this year.  Read More

Team Obama breaks precedent to try to spoil Romney’s convention

Bucking protocol, President Obama and the Democrats are planning a full-scale assault on Republicans next week during their convention.

Dishonorable Disclosures

Published on Aug 15, 2012 by

Intelligence and Special Operations forces are furious and frustrated at how President Obama and those in positions of authority have exploited their service for political advantage. Countless leaks, interviews and decisions by the Obama Administration and other government officials have undermined the success of our Intelligence and Special Operations forces and put future missions and personnel at risk.

The unwarranted and dangerous public disclosure of Special Forces Operations is so serious — that for the first time ever — former operators have agreed to risk their reputations and go ‘on the record’ in a special documentary titled “Dishonorable Disclosures.” Its goal is to educate America about serious breaches of security and prevent them from ever happening again.

Use of military ranks, titles & photographs in uniform does not imply endorsement of the Dept of the Army or the Department of Defense. All individuals are no longer in active service with any federal agency or military service.

ABOUND SOLAR’S LACKEYS: 2 Letters From Colorado Congressional Democrats Begging For Taxpayer Cash

As The Colorado Observer reported this morning, all seven of Colorado’s Congressional Democrats sent a letter to President Obama’s Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, urging him to approve the Abound Solar loan. Below you’ll find a copy of that letter and Congressman Jared Polis’s earlier missive.

In July 2010, Obama personally announced Abound Solar’s $400 million loan. In February 2012, Abound Solar halted production and laid off 70% of its staff. In June 2012, Abound Solar announced they were shutting down and filing for bankruptcy.   More…

Mexico and Canada Invited to Join the Secret TPP Negotiations

This week President Obama and U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Ron Kirk announced that Canada and Mexico have been invited to join the secret negotiations aimed at establishing the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Notably, in both statements Ambassador Kirk places the approval of “domestic stakeholders” (read: large corporations) on a level with that of the Congress. It is precisely this exalting of big business that has troubled many of the people’s representatives in Congress.

One such opponent, Americans for Limited Government (ALG), is taking the lead in warning the people of the United States about the confluence of corporate and governmental interests and their goal of destroying the independence of our country.

“It is self-evident that the erosion of the right of citizens to control their own lives is progressing at a rate that we are little more than wage slaves to an oppressive government and its cadre of corporate backers that consider our lives and our liberties of little or no consequence,” Wilson warned.

Report: GOP Will End Fast And Furious Investigation

May 31, 2012 By John Boehner 3 SC Report: GOP will end Fast and Furious investigation

“We want to let them know that there is a theological responsibility (emphasis added) to participate in the political process…” said House Congressional Black Caucus chair, Emanuel Cleaver of a meeting with hundreds of black Pastors representing various denominations in the U.S. Speaking to MSNBC, the congressman added “…we’re going to have the IRS administrator there, we’re going to have the Attorney General Eric Holder there, we’re going to have the lawyers’ organization from around the country, the ACLU — all giving Ministers guidance about what they can and cannot do.”

Of course, Cleaver was referring to “guidance” in the ways churches can participate in the 2012 election without violating IRS rules concerning their tax exempt status.  Naturally, this has always been of GREAT concern to black pastors, especially nowadays given the sterling record of unbiased enforcement built by the scrupulously law-abiding Attorney General.  More…

Ex-Dem guv: Suppose Obama ‘not born in U.S. …’

Ponders scenario where prez ‘got away’ with birth fraud

Democrat personality David Paterson, former governor of New York and now a talk show host on WOR, has suggested Barack Obama “got away” with occupying the Oval Office while being ineligible.

And Paterson linked the idea of treason with Obama’s actions.

On his show yesterday, he was lamenting, along with NBC Chief White House Correspondent Chuck Todd, how GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney should have distanced himself more from developer Donald Trump and his comments regarding questions over Obama’s eligibility.

“Even if he wasn’t born in the United States at this point,” Paterson said. “It’s kind of like he got away with it.”

He continued, “A lot of people get away with a lot of things.”

He compared Obama’s actions to those of Richard Nixon.  More…

Trump slaps CNN: Report Obama birth fraud!

Blames network’s dismal ratings on refusal to expose eligibility scandal

author-image by Chelsea Schilling

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump smacked CNN today, telling lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer the network would improve its dismal viewer ratings if it would only report the issue of Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president “accurately.”

“Obama does not like the issue of where he was born…” he told Blitzer in the interview. “There’s something that bothers Obama very much. I will tell you: It’s not an issue that he likes talking about, so what he does is use reverse psychology on people like you … He does not like that issue because it’s hitting very close to home. You know it, and he knows it – but you don’t report it accurately.”

Exposed: More Obama/Reid Friends Get No Bid Contracts—How D.C. Corruption Works

by Stephen Frank on 05/29/2012 ·

Barack Obama is truly a Son of the Chicago Way.

“Seven solar companies received fast-tracked lease approvals in a no-bid process. Those seven companies also all received loan guarantees worth billions from the Department of Energy under its renewable energy loan program, as well as renewable energy grants from the Treasury Department.

As previously reported by the Free Beacon, there were extensive political ties among the solar companies, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.), the Department of Energy, DOI, and the Commerce Department.”

As Patrick Jane in “The Mentalist” would say, there are no coincidences.  Corruption is easy for those brought up in the Chicago Way.  In 160 days we can end the corruption—maybe even send a few of these folks to jail.  More…
