Highlights: Pat Caddell Says: Media Have Become an “Enemy of the American people” (video)

Published on Sep 27, 2012 by

In recent remarks to an AIM conference, “ObamaNation: A Day of Truth,” former Democratic pollster and analyst Pat Caddell said, “I think we’re at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role that the media plays in whether or not we maintain a free democracy.” Caddell noted that while First Amendment protections were originally provided to the press so they would protect the liberty and freedom of the public from “organized governmental power,” they had clearly relinquished the role of impartial news providers.
Nowhere was this more evident than during the tragic death of a U.S. ambassador in Libya that was lied about for nine days, because the press and the administration did not want to admit it was a terrorist attack.
“We’ve had nine days of lies over what happened because they can’t dare say it’s a terrorist attack, and the press won’t push this,” said Caddell. “Yesterday there was not a single piece in The New York Times over the question of Libya. Twenty American embassies, yesterday, are under attack. None of that is on the national news. None of it is being pressed in the papers.”
Caddell added that it is one thing for the news to have a biased view, but “It is another thing to specifically decide that you will not tell the American people information they have a right to know.”

Useful Idiots

By Oliver North · September 21, 2012
Oliver North

WASHINGTON — Ever since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2012, the Obama White House has sought to lay blame for deadly and destructive anti-American attacks in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Lebanon, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan and more than two dozen other countries on someone else. The O-Team — and the perpetrators — have had a lot of help from the “useful idiots” in the mainstream media. The disinformation campaign being waged by the Obama administration over the cause of this violence would be comedic but for the fact that six Americans have been killed and dozens have been injured.  More…

Truth is the Ultimate Gaffe

Gaffe, a word that temporarily came to be associated with political misstatements, has returned to its origins as a social faux pas, such as saying something at a dinner party that everyone knows to be true, but that know mustn’t be said out loud.

The media is still doing its best to pretend that a gaffe is a mistake, when they are actually using it to mean the telling of inconvenient truths. Obama’s reign of error is a constellation of inconvenient truths, economic, security and legal, that cannot be discussed in public. The telling of these inconvenient truths has been met with cries of racism, no matter how little they have to do with race. Now they are being met with cries of “Gaffe, Gaffe”, when Romney brings them up.  More…

Mr. President, Mitt Romney Is Not the Enemy

By on 9.13.12 @ 8:00AM

Al Qaeda is. Please inform your Ministry of Truth.

So, let me get this straight:

It is September 11, 2012. An Al Qaeda sponsored mob is marching, running, screaming towards the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. Supposedly they are angry about an e-mail cartoon about the Islamic figure, Mohammed. It is known right away that the organizers of the march are the same entity that did the mass murder of Americans on 9.11.01.  More…

Correspondence and collusion between the New York Times and the CIA

Mark Mazzetti’s emails with the CIA expose the degradation of journalism that has lost the imperative to be a check to power

(updated below)

The rightwing transparency group, Judicial Watch, released Tuesday a new batch of documents showing how eagerly the Obama administration shoveled information to Hollywood film-makers about the Bin Laden raid. Obama officials did so to enable the production of a politically beneficial pre-election film about that “heroic” killing, even as administration lawyers insisted to federal courts and media outlets that no disclosure was permissible because the raid was classified.  More…

Liberal Media Upset About Voter ID Laws, Say They Will Hurt Obama

April 24, 2012 By Supported By Media Obama Knocked Out SC Liberal Media Upset About Voter ID Laws, Say They Will Hurt Obama

Reuters is worried that new tough anti-voter fraud laws will hurt Barack Obama’s chances of reelection next November. Complaining that such laws “could” reduce Obama’s supporters by “hundreds of thousands,” the media outlet apparently sees no irony in its own position. Reuters doesn’t feel at all self-conscious about the implication that only fraudulent applicants have to be concerned about these new laws, and honest people would not be disadvantaged in the least.  More…

Forgerygate: Media Threatened With Federal Investigations If Obama Birth Certificate Story Reported

570 1024x682 Forgerygate: Media Threatened With Federal Investigations If Obama Birth Certificate Story Reported

Individuals and member organizations of the American media were threatened with FTC and FCC investigation if information gathered by Sheriff Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse concerning the forgery of Barack Obama’s long form birth certificate were passed on to the American public.

It was Posse lead investigator Mike Zullo who made this stunning revelation, stating “During our investigation, we actually were told [that media] had been threatened with FTC investigations. Commentators [had been] threatened with their jobs.”

And Jerome Corsi, author of “Where’s the birth certificate,” the book whose imminent publication was responsible for forcing Barack Obama to quickly create and place the fraudulent long form birth certificate on the White House web site, has said that “Testimony is being developed that the White House is intimidating, in a systematic way, the mainstream media and if any broadcasters dare go into this birther story, they’re going to risk FCC investigations… people are going to have careers ruined… thrown off the air.”  More…

Sheriff Joe Arpaio News Conference About Obama Birth

SheriffJoe35

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Poll after poll in recent months has indicated that Americans have a high level of concern over Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president, with one poll showing fully half of the nation wants Congress to investigate the question.

But reporters for the traditional media – networks, major newspapers, major news corporations and conglomerates – mostly have giggled when talk turns to the serious question of just what the U.S. Constitution requires of presidents.

Nevertheless, media organizations from all political persuasions are seeking admittance to a news conference to be held by Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Ariz.

The event is tomorrow at 1 p.m. Mountain Standard Time in Phoenix, 3 p.m. Eastern, and will be live-streamed by WND.  More…

Report Reveals White House Ties to Liberal Watchdog

John Jessup and Tracy Winborn/CBN News

Are they serious?

WASHINGTON — The White House is under fire from conservative groups Tuesday after a new report revealed it has close ties with a non-profit liberal watchdog group being paid to target religious broadcasters.

Media Matters of America bills itself as dedicated to “correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.”

In an investigative series exposing the group, the The Daily Caller news website found that Media Matters has significant influence within many major news organizations.

The Daily Caller also said “Media Matters has to a great extent achieved its central goal of influencing the national media.”

** Alex Pappas, reporter for the Daily Caller, worked on the investigative series on Media Matters. He talked about why the group would go after Christian broadcasters, on “The 700 Club,” Feb. 21.

Kerry Picket, editor of the Washington Times opinion blog, agreed.

“This story The Daily Caller put out, you have some sources inside Media Matters that have said that they practically wrote MSNBC’s prime time line-up,” Picket said.  More…

Rush Limbaugh mocks GOP establishment

On his show, Limbaugh insisted that Santorum’s win was hardly a surprise. | AP Photo

By MJ LEE | 2/8/12 2:42 PM EST

Rush Limbaugh mocked the Republican establishment on his radio show Wednesday for being “shocked” by Rick Santorum’s three-state win, saying, “I can’t believe how insulated they are.”

“They’re literally shocked. The Republican establishment had no idea this was percolating out there. I can’t believe how insulated they are,” Limbaugh said. “To look at the reaction they’re having today, to see how shocked they are that Rick Santorum has come out of what they thought was an impossible position equivalent to nowhere, is an incredible thing.”

The “drive-bys” – a term that Limbaugh has coined for the media – have been crediting the conservative radio talker for Santorum’s trifecta victory Tuesday by spreading around the notion that “the Republican base is a bunch of mind-numbed robots sitting out there waiting for marching orders from me,” the conservative radio show host said.

“First it was Newt, now it’s Santorum. It can’t be the candidates. It can’t be that Santorum’s connecting with voters. It can’t be that, no, no, it can’t be that Santorum’s resonating with Republican voters, the conservative base. It can’t be that the conservative base just isn’t happy with Romney. It can’t be any of that. No, no, no,” he said, according to a transcript of the show.

Proceeding to confess the “profound respect and administration” he has for the people who listen to his show, Limbaugh said the assumption that conservative voters are “a bunch of idiots” that can’t make up their own minds was “insulting” and “demeaning.”

He also warned the Republican Party that it would be making a serious mistake to assume that voters that opt for a non-Mitt Romney candidate do so simply under Limbaugh’s orders.  Read more:

Are Big Media Covering Up Fast and Furious?

February 1, 2012By M. Catharine Evans

Where was the public outcry for justice when Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry bled to death at the hands of a drug cartel in cahoots with the U.S. government?  It happened in the Peck Canyon corridor northwest of Nogales, Arizona — nowhere.  The general public didn’t hear about it.

It’s been one year and two months since agent Terry died.  Within weeks of his demise, his shocking murder would illuminate a bizarre and murderous government plot to run guns, lots of guns — over 2,000 guns — into the hands of the Sinaloa drug cartel.

Members of Sinaloa were behind 19,097 murders in Mexico between 2006 and 2010.  But that didn’t stop the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in conjunction with the U.S. attorney’s office in Arizona from initiating a program in 2009 that would add at least 300 more dead bodies to that sobering pile of human remains south of the border.

Within 24 hours of Terry’s death, officials had traced two AK-47s to an ATF Phoenix-based operation dubbed Fast and Furious.  Read more:

Reuters Busted on Rubio Hit Piece

By Thomas Lifson

The Reuters news service once again has made itself a laughingstock by publishing a mistake-riddled hit piece on Marco Rubio, all but ruling him out as a vice presidential nominee for the GOP because of alleged financial problems. Many of which turned out to be untrue. Five corrections were necessary.

Matt Lewis of the Daily Caller outlines a total of 7 falsehoods or exaggerations in the story. Dylan Byers of Politico spoke to Reuters staff who refused to go on the record (an interesting stance for a newsman), and writes:

One senior staffer at Reuters described the episode to me as a “fiasco,” another as a “disgrace.”

It was so bad, in fact, that the editors and writer involved have been asked not to talk about it. (I reached out to editors David Lindsey and Eric Walsh, but have not heard back.)

They won’t even defend themselves! How bad must it be if you can’t even fabricate a rationalization of the facts. The facts must themselves be damning. John Hinderake of Powerline calls it the “worst news story of 2012.”

There are two hypotheses for what happened at Reuters:

1.  An incompetent reporter did a half-assed job of research, and his editors (who either assigned or approved the story to the reporter in the first place) didn’t bother with fact-checking. Or

2. They were fed flawed oppo research.  Which raises the obvious question of who would want to knock Rubio out of consideration.

Let’s examine each.  Read more:

Fox News Hires Soros-funded Activist

January 19, 2012 – 8:31 pm EST | By: Cliff Kincaid /Accuracy in Media

Sally Kohn, a former senior strategist at the Soros-funded Center for Community Change, has been hired as a Fox News Contributor. Soros is the controversial hedge fund billionaire, convicted of insider trading in France, who finances the “progressive” movement in the U.S.

It is significant that Kohn is now a regular paid commentator on Fox News, while Glenn Beck, the one-time archenemy of George Soros, was ousted from the channel last year and now hosts an Internet TV show.

An open lesbian who shuns feminine attire and frequently wears a suit jacket, Kohn is joining Fox News after being a regular on such programs as “The Ed Show” on liberal rival MSNBC. She is now officially part of the “Fox News Family,” as she puts it, and has been making appearances on the channel for several days.  More…
